Principal consultant for meeting planning 2004 to present:  meetings including Annual Symposium:  Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation: The State of the Art (2004); Annual Brain Injury Business Practices College (2005 and 2006); State of the Art Medical and Rehabilitative Care in Brain Injury:  Clinical and Legal Implications (2006); Honoring the Past—Charting the Future Caregivers Conference (2006). 

 Drake University

2000 to present:  Recruit for and coordinate Master’s cohort program in Rehabilitation Administration and Rehabilitation Counseling in Kansas City, Missouri, and Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  Teach Counseling 220 Occupational Information and Professional Resources in distance learning format.  Advise students on a variety of non-academic problem solving.  Track and monitor student’s progress. 

National Association of State Head Injury Administrators (NASHIA)

Educational Programs Manager:  2002 to 2006:  Coordinate two annual conferences and numerous other training activities for persons involved in the public sector of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).  Coordinate and produce a series of Webcasts on various topics to build capacity within agencies and across states.  Manage product review process and moderate list serve. 

University of Missouri‑Columbia

Administrator, National Association of State Head Injury Administrators (NASHIA)

2000 to 2002: Under a Cooperative Agreement between NASHIA and the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA), coordinate a series of regional forums to build capacity within agencies and across states and an annual national meeting for persons involved in the public sector of traumatic brain injury.

1999 to 2000:  Coordinate contract between NASHIA and HRSA to develop fact sheets on traumatic brain injury and other areas of rehabilitation, prepare and distribute slide presentation on public policy and traumatic brain injury; supervise revision and expansion of NASHIA’s web site to share information developed in the contract as well as other information on brain injury, and manage the contract’s annual budget, monitoring all expenditures.  

Project Director, Region VII NET:

1996 to 1999:  Plan and direct the daily operational activities of Rehabilitation Services Administration grant in Distance Learning through Telecommunications (the Region VII NET) that includes IA, KS, MO, and NE.  Develop a needs assessment to identify customer base and level of expertise in using the Internet.  Direct the assessment of competencies, designed implementation into learning modules, and validate the resulting curriculum.  Identify major consultants and monitor the on-going development of learning modules.  Direct the liaison of UMC’s Region VII Rehabilitation Continuing Education Program and Drake University’s National Rehabilitation Institute. Lead a dynamic collaborative management team and supervise professional staff and support staff.  Administer the financial operations of the Region VII NET including development of budget, monitoring financial activities, approving expenditures, and developing and writing needed reports to granting agency (Rehabilitation Services Administration).   

Convene advisory board.  Maintain stability of the program by marketing services and distance learning modules offered and by identifying continuing funding sources, developing and writing proposals to those agencies.    

Coordinator, Rehabilitation Continuing Education Program:

          1980 to 1996:  Manage grant office offering 50-70 training seminars annually.  Presented training in communication  
          skills, stress management, leadership simulation, assertion, and ADA accessibility surveying.
